Goodbye Chicks!
Early in April our friend Miss Kristin (aka giant yellow chicken woman) visited and brought us fertile eggs for hatching.  We had the incubator ready and watched every day for signs of hatching.  At day 21 our first little chick hatched, and three more followed the next day.  The four chicks did well in our brooder box, and Mrs. Jeans set up a webcam so we could watch them from class and home.  At the end of the week the chicks moved on to live with Miss Kristin where they will be part of a happy brood of hens laying eggs for the family.  We have been promised pictures so we can keep up with changes as they grow.  Bye, bye, little fuzzy friends!"
Enterprise's Robotics Team

Fourth and Fifth Graders on the Robotics Team traveled to OPHS on Saturday to participate in the annual FLL Fun Day activities.  Teams use the robots they built and programmed to accomplish challenges on the game tables, and meet with judges to discuss their robot designs and try to solve problems as a team.  It's a long and challenging day each year and this year's team is up to the challenge!
Color Run Postponed
The Color Run has been postponed to Saturday June 4th due to the weather conditions.
Live Baby Chick Webcam
The chicks have started to hatch at Enterprise Elementary School!

Tuesday morning: Our first chick hatched on Monday night and is now in the brooder box.  If you can't see the chick it is probably out of camera view.  Right now he's (she's?) cheeping and cheeping for Mrs.Flench to come back. It thinks she is its mother!  The two white objects under the heat lamp are rolled-up socks to keep it company while we wait for other chicks to hatch.  Two seem to be working on hatching this evening (Tuesday) and we hope to find them well and hungry Wednesday morning when we return.  Good night!  Mrs. Flench (aka Mama Hen)

Update, 8:30 PM, Tuesday: 2 chicks hatched around 6:30 tonight.  The first is jet black, the second yellow.  After an hour I moved them to the brooder box.  So far the new black chick seems strongest, and the yellow one very tired.  The older chick isn't sure what to make of them.  Hoping all goes well with their older sibling.

Update:  10:30 AM, Wednesday - Are you thinking you see 4 chicks?  You do!  Another hatched overnight.  We now have four.  Our chicks will be with us until Friday when they go to live with a family who will raise them.  Enjoy our live webcam now, and we'll post pictures now and then as they grow up in Manassas.
