3rd-5th Grade Students Create Rocket Sculpture

Grades 3, 4, 5 Enterprise artists examined the sculptures of the renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly.  They used their painting, cutting and modeling skills to transform water bottles into mini sculptures. Mrs. Smiley assembled the sculptures together in a way similar to Chihuly's massive glass installations found all over the world. The rocket sculpture is located near the front office.

Parents - Sign Up for a Parent Portal Account
Parents, if you have not done so already, please sign up for a Parent Portal account. One of the benefits of a Parent Portal account is having the ability to check on your child's grades. Getting an account requires a few steps:
  1. Go to the Parent Portal website and click on Request Account. (Please do this step a few days before you plan on coming in to school for step 2.)
  2. You will receive an email in a few days. Print the email. Then bring the printed email and an ID to the school. Ms. Brizuela will be in the office to verify this information during Back to School Nights or you can bring it to school during our normal business hours.
  3. A few days later you will receive another email with your login information.
Already have an account but need to add another child? Call Ms. Brizuela at 703-590-1558.

September Fun Run
It was a beautiful day for our September Fun Run. The kids began their journey on getting fit and staying active. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped cheer our students on!

Students Celebrate Constitution Day!
Enterprise's 3rd-5th grade students celebrated Constitution Day with an assembly. They learned more about the US Constitution, recited the Enterprise Rocket Pledge, and met this year's group of Safety Patrol students. Thanks to Mrs. Flench, our wonderful librarian, for organizing the event!

2nd Graders Have Corn Husking Competition
2nd graders learned about food sources, and then they had a blast with a corn husking competition. Mrs. Barclay's class showed off their superior corn husking skills and was able to husk 100 ears of corn in the shortest amount of time! Way to go!
Summer Reading Celebration

Students who completed their summer reading and turned in their documentation pages were invited to attend a special celebration out behind the school at "Enterprise Beach."  Unfortunately there was no real beach, but we had bright sunshine (most days) and freezing cold ice pops, beach music, waves of fun with Mrs. Swain's storytelling, a pool of free books and our favorite Hylton Bulldog stopping by for a visit.  Plan on doing summer reading next year and attending this annual celebration!
