Live Baby Chick Webcam
The chicks have started to hatch at Enterprise Elementary School!
Tuesday morning: Our first chick hatched on Monday night and is now in the brooder box.  If you can't see the chick it is probably out of camera view.  Right now he's (she's?) cheeping and cheeping for Mrs.Flench to come back. It thinks she is its mother!  The two white objects under the heat lamp are rolled-up socks to keep it company while we wait for other chicks to hatch.  Two seem to be working on hatching this evening (Tuesday) and we hope to find them well and hungry Wednesday morning when we return.  Good night!  Mrs. Flench (aka Mama Hen)

Update, 8:30 PM, Tuesday: 2 chicks hatched around 6:30 tonight.  The first is jet black, the second yellow.  After an hour I moved them to the brooder box.  So far the new black chick seems strongest, and the yellow one very tired.  The older chick isn't sure what to make of them.  Hoping all goes well with their older sibling.

Update:  10:30 AM, Wednesday - Are you thinking you see 4 chicks?  You do!  Another hatched overnight.  We now have four.  Our chicks will be with us until Friday when they go to live with a family who will raise them.  Enjoy our live webcam now, and we'll post pictures now and then as they grow up in Manassas.

It was a great day celebrating  our planet and thinking of ways to make it better. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help with this event.
Enterprise Students are Inventors
Have you ever found an interesting problem and suddenly had a brilliant idea about how to solve the problem? This is what inventors do.  They find an interesting problem and seek to create something new to solve the problem. Today, students showed off their creativity and problem solving skills with their Invention Convention projects. We are very proud of their hard work.
